Unforgivable Iniquity

In that day did the Lord God of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackloth: and behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine… this iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord God of hosts” (Isa 22:12-14

What is this iniquity which shall not be purged? When God calls you to repent, to weep, to fast and to cry to Him (so that He may show compassion on you), if you feast and rejoice, rebelling against the counsel of God, the Lord may never forgive such a rebellious spirit.

“Pride, fulness of bread and abundance of idleness”was the iniquity of Sodom (Eze 16:49) – for which the judgment of God came on them. The present generation has become worse than Sodom and Gomorrah. “Lord, have mercy on us; let not this iniquity that cannot be purged come on us.”

True children of God should take time to fast and pray and weep before the judgment of God comes on this untoward generation. But alas! The majority of Christians have neglected prayer and fasting as never before. It’s time for us to wake up and take time to fast, to weep and to mourn in the presence of God – that God may have mercy on us and on this sinful generation.

“Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: and rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth Him of the evil” (Joel 2:12,13).
