Who has ascended to heaven and come down?
Who has gathered the wind in His fists?
Who has wrapped up the waters in a garment?
Who has established all the ends of the earth?

[Luke 18:18-23] we read of Jesus’ encounter with the Rich Ruler. He took Jesus’ words as recommendations -rather than as the immutable Word of the Living God. He heard, but didn’t shâma‛…

[Luke 19:10] we read of Zacchaeus who was so eager to know Jesus that he was willing to lay aside his dignity & climb a tree. He was willing to give up his wealth to gain relationship with Jesus.

Difference: The Rich Ruler called Jesus, Good Teacher … BUT… Zacchaeus called Jesus, Lord. The Ruler went away empty, and Zacchaeus found salvation (Yeshua)

Christmas reminds us that God the Son, laid aside His Glory to raise US to glory, that He came to die so that we might have life…

💞 And He did it, to redeem us to be “His Bride”, bound with Him in an eternal covenant of love and faithfulness >> that we might spend eternity with Him.

🤔 What do you call Jesus?
Lord Jesus, awesome King of Kings, Lord of Glory, tender Shepherd, who am I that You should know my name, and grant me dignity by calling me by name. When I think of earthly rulers who get offended if they are not given fancy titles, it amazes me that You invite us to intimacy and fellowship and give us freedom to call You by Your Name… Precious Gift! Sweet name! Amen.
