Ministry of Samuel 💫

Dedicated unto the Lord even before being formed in his mother’s womb, Samuel had an unique calling. The word of the Lord came to Samuel when he was a little kid. He grew up ministering unto the Lord.

The ministry of Samuel was well defined. It was in his time that Israel saw a transition from Judges to Kings. Samuel was a judge, prophet and he anointed the first two kings of Israel. It is fascinating to read in the Bible about Samuel’s ministry tours.

Like Paul and his missionary trips Samuel travelled year after year concentrating on specific spots. The Bible says:

📖 He went from year to year on a circuit to Bethel, Gilgal, and Mizpah, and judged Israel in all those places. But he always returned to Ramah, for his home was there. There he judged Israel, and there he built an altar to the LORD (1 Sam 7:17, 18).

The ministerial area of Samuel was specific. Samuel was a prophet who did what God told him to do. So his ministry was God ordained, God oriented and God directed. He did not do what he liked; he did not go wherever he wanted; he did not say what made him comfortable. He did ALL that God told him.

Samuel’s ministry commenced from Ramah, went in a circuit to Bethel, then to Gilgal, from there to Mizpah and returned to Ramah. He traveled to these places year after year judging the people.

Dear ones in Christ, God’s ministry must be done in God’s way, according to God’s direction and His will. We cannot do something just because someone is doing that ministry. We are called to serve Him; let us prayerfully find what God wants us to do. And in what way He wants us to serve Him. Never overstep or overdo that which does not belong to your sphere of ministry.

God bless us to be channels of blessings.
