King Herod persecuted the church by mistreating some people

Acts 12:6
“On the very night when Herod was about to bring him forward, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and guards in front of the door were watching over the prison.”

⚔️ King Herod persecuted the church by mistreating some people. He had James, the brother of John put to death by a sword. Herod saw that this had pleased the Jews, so he ordered Peter, the apostle of Jesus to be arrested so that he could also do away with him.

🙏 But the people of God sought the Lord in prayer and God answered their prayer. God intervened and sent His 😇 angel to free Peter from the prison. Though Peter was in prison, he was not perturbed by his situation. For we find Peter 😴 sleeping peacefully between two soldiers, bound with two chains in the prison. When the angel came to the prison cell, the 😇 angel struck Peter’s side to wake him up. (Acts 12:7) Peter was not even aware that an angel had come to free him, for he thought he was seeing a vision. (Acts 12:9) Only when the angel left Peter on the street from the prison cell that he realized that God had sent an 😇 angel to free him from the ✋ hand of Herod and the Jewish people.

❤️ Lord Jesus help us to remember that You are always with us, whatever be our situations. Psalm 27:10 says, ” Though my father and mother forsake me, Yahweh will gather me up. ” Also Matthew 28:20 says, ” And look, I am with you always, yes, to the end of time. “
Let the Word of God, strengthen us and give us courage to face all trials in life. Amen.
