It matters to end well
Ecclesiastes 7
❇️ The end of a matter is better than it’s beginning (v8)
❇️ Above saying is applicable to all situations in life. Since end of a matter is better than it’s beginning it matters to end better.
❇️ This is true of those who have a hope of entering eternal life at the end of this earthly life which is far better than their beginning in this world. For believers, Christ in us is the hope of glory(Col. 1:27). But for those who don’t have this hope their end will be worse than their beginning.
❇️ It is not where we begin in our life but where we end will reveal our character. A job well begun is half done but a job well finished is worthily done.
❇️ It helps to begin with the end in mind, which shows the importance of the end over the beginning. What counts at the end is not our ancestry or family background we came from but the destiny that awaits us.
❇️ St.Paul said, “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called”( Php.3:14) which indicates Paul was more concerned about the end. People who fail to end well after beginning well are easily forgotten.
❇️ What is more important in life is not how we begin but how we end since the finish determines our afterlife status
❇️ In this world our Lord started as a son of a carpenter born in a cattle shed but ended gloriously as the Saviour of this world. David started as a Shepherd boy but ended as a King. Like them we may have to go through personal pain and suffering but through it all if we persevere we will end well.
✅ Insights learnt:
▪️End of a matter is better than it’s start
▪️It matters to end better
▪️All is well that ends well

Take a Break with Jesus in the Lockdown 🍞☕
Day 149, 270 Days Bible Reading, Thursday, 10.12.20. ✒
In this Lockdown, take time to reflect that what we really are will slip out through our lives… Ecclesiastes 10:1-3.
🌹 No one can use a costly perfume when it has a dead fly in it. The stinking smell of the fly will be stronger than the expensive perfume. Similarly, a little folly will outweigh all the godly wisdom we possess. King Solomon, the wisest man on earth, knew from personal experience that a little folly corrupted his divine wisdom. Everything we really, truly, deeply are, will come out in our behaviour whether it comes out of our mouth or not, even as we walk on the road, Ecclesiastes, 10:3.
🌹 Just imagine us walking down a road and people can say by our words and action whether our lives are built on the rock of God’s Word, Matthew 7:24. Both wisdom and foolishness will be apparent in our lives. Our behaviour will demonstrate whether we are the disciples of Jesus who is the Wisdom of God, 1 Corinthians 1:24. Our foolishness is nailed to the Cross when Jesus becomes the Wisdom in us, 1 Corinthians 1:30*
🌹 Dear Child of God, Remember this, are we demonstrating to the world with our actions and lifestyle that we have been redeemed from ‘the foolishness of this world’ to ‘the wisdom that is found in Christ?’ It only takes one rotten foolish apple to corrupt the whole basket of apples. Our behaviour demonstrates whether we are dominated by the wisdom of God or the foolishness of the devil.
🌹 We are to influence the people of the world, as a Church that has been lavished by the many-sided Wisdom of God, Ephesians 1:8. We, who are Redeemed, have been given the Wisdom of God. To know that we have this Wisdom, we need to pray for the Spirit of Revelation and the Spirit of Wisdom, so that our inner eyes can be opened to know that we are the possessors of this Wisdom from God, Ephesians 1:17.
🌹 Let us in this Lockdown wear the fragrance of God’s Wisdom, and avoid being foolish, as we advance to impact the world around us in this pandemic crisis, where much wisdom is needed to heed the right advice and avoid folly to taint our wisdom when there are crisis challenges, Ecclesiastes 10:1… Amen. 🙏
