Take a Break with Jesus in the Lockdown 🍞☕
Day 185, 270 Days Bible Reading, Friday, 15.1.21. ✒
In this Lockdown, even if our message from God is not heard, don’t give up being a watchman, Ezekiel 33:30-33.
🔈 One thing I have learnt in life is that regardless of having given the most wise, loving advice possible, it’s up to the listener whether or not to receive that advice and put it to practice. Ezekiel 33:31-33, is about those who are not the doers of the Word, James 1:22. Jesus said the same thing as Ezekiel 33:32, in Matthew 7:24, that a wise person will put to practice God’s Word. In this lockdown we have the opportunity to make the right choice and pursue the things of God. *In Acts 20:26-27, Paul wrote that he continued to preach the gospel whether the people listened to or/and applied to in their lives. Likewise, we have the responsibility to tell the truth of God’s word in the love of God, in this pandemic situation.
🔈 God was making it clear through Ezekiel 33 that the person who has been called to share God’s Word is responsible for the souls of the people. If he fails to share what he has heard from God, he will be judged according to the sins the people commit. In this lockdown, just because there are all the restrictions in place, we can’t neglect God’s work, and in sharing God’s message for the people.
🔈 Ezekiel was called to be a watchman. A watchman’s purpose is to be alert and warn the people of a coming danger. If he fails to warn the people, he is responsible for any harm that comes to the people. If he warns the people and they ignore the warning, then the people are responsible for their own harm because they did not believe the watchman, Ezekiel 33:33.
🔈 Child of God, Remember this, the responsibility we have is in the communication of the knowledge of God’s Word. The people’s responsibility is to listen and put it into practice. The people listened to Ezekiel with hardened hearts. They hear him with their ears but do not take to heart anything that he said, Ezekiel 20:49, and did the same as they did to Isaiah in Isaiah 6:10.
🔈 Every Believer can fulfil this purpose of God by being completely surrendered to the Holy Spirit and being truly obedient to every instruction of the Holy Spirit, so that we can be God’s hands, feet and mouth to those around us.
🔈 In this lockdown, we are the watchmen for the Lord. We are to prepare the people for His Return and warn them about the Judgement. We should not fail to do what God has called us to do. We are accountable to God and there are consequences for our failure to do His will by the power of the Holy Spirit to be a Christian witness. Let us do whatever it takes to bring God’s message to this hurting world… Amen. 🙏
