Cursed is he who does the work of the Lord deceitfully

Jeremiah 48:10. Here we see 2 reasons for becoming cursed. Let us search ourselves whether we have these sins of omission to become cursed.

  1. Cursed is he who does the work of the Lord deceitfully (negligently, with slackness)

We may think that this the work of the Pastors and preachers . But today, those who are washed by the blood of Jesus and received Salvation, all should use our time , talents, opportunities to tell the gospel or good news of Jesus Chist to many people in our family, working places, in the church, society, and sorroundings . Do we work for the Lord? If not, or working negligently we are cursed.

It is our work to pray for the salvation and deliverance of people who are under the bondages of sin, sickness, and the power of evil Spirit . Do we pray regularly knowing that this is our God given work? Or do we give lame excuse saying, l don’t have wisdom, time, gifts to do His work? Let us ask God to forgive us and submit ourselves to do His work truthfully and faithfully. May our Lord deliver us from this curse.

  1. Cursed is he who keeps back his sword from blood. That means , he is not using his sword. What is the purpose of sword? To fight against the enemy to overcome or to defeat him. What is the sword? The word of God is the two edged sword given in our hand to fight against our enemy devil. Psalm 149: 6. Ephysians 6: 17. He has made my mouth like a sharp sword. Isaiah 49: 2. For what? We should tell the word of God, His promises to overcome and destroy the works of devil. Thatswhy David is telling in Psalm 101: 8, early l will destroy (by prayer) all the wicked of the land (evil spirit) that l may cut off all the evildoers from the city (from us , lsaiah 60: 14) of the Lord.

Revelation 1: 16 says, out of His mouth, went a sharp two edged sword. If so we being his children, this sword or word of God should come out of our mouth too. Do we use this sword to overcome our enemy, the devil? If not, we can’t inherit the kingdom of God.

  1. Jesus, became a curse for us, by carrying and dying on the cross which is cursed. Also a crown of thorns was kept on His head as a symbal of curse. So let us confess our negligence to be cursed and receive His blessings by doing His work and using the word of God, the sword. Amen. Hallelujah.
