God will attest the way of the righteous
If we truly desire to be happy then we must not listen to ungodly advice that contradicts God’s Word, nor must we make it a habit of sinning, or be offended when corrected for the wrong things we do, vs 1.
On the contrary, we should make it a point to renew our minds with the Word of God and keep thinking about what we have read in it many times in a day, till we see its principles being worked out in our lives through implicit obedience, vs 2. This is the secret to bearing the fruit of the spirit in terms of being loving, joyful, peaceful patient, gentle, good, faithful, kind and self controlled, Galatians 5:22,23, even in the most trying circumstances of life, Mathew 7:24,25. This is also the way that enables us to prosper in all we do, vs3.
The ungodly live in a way that is just the opposite, and so will be unable to stand through the tests and pressures of life, Mathew 7:26,27, nor at the time when God judges them, nor in the assembly of the righteous, but they shall be considered as chaff, because they neither considered the commandments of God nor walked in them, by humbling themselves and turning away from their sinful lifestyle when they had an opportunity to do so, vs 4,5.
In the final day, God will attest the way of the righteous, and His attestation will always be based on His Word. However, those who have lived in disobedience to His Word, by choice, will perish, vs6. There is absolutely no middle ground or grey area. If we say that we are God’s children, and yet, wilfully continue in sin, we prove, beyond a shadow of doubt that we are of the devil, 1 John 3:5-10, and so, can expect only a certain fearful expectation of judgment and a fury of fire that will consume God’s enemies, Hebrews 10:26,27.
*May God give us grace to walk on the path of the righteous that shines brighter and brighter until full day, Proverbs 4:18, and become a fruit-bearing soul that brings glory to God’s Name during our brief time on earth. Amen.
