Even before Samson was born God chose him to rescue Israel from its brutal enemies ,the Philistines .Samson ‘s mother dedicated her boy to God as a nazarite_ a special vow of purity and she begged the lord for wisdom to raise him right 13:8 God gave Samson supernatural human strength but Samson wasted his energies chasing ungogly women.

All he cared about was himself .He didnot care about his people,his family,or his God.He told his shocked parents, that he wanted to marry a philistine girl.Israelites were commanded not to intermarry with the people of the land.Deu7:3.but Samson persisted over his parents objection .As he was on his way to the wedding party,he swooped honey out of the dead lion he had killed earlier.Samson ,a nazarite was forbidden to touch a dead body but Samson didnot care

Samson ‘s lover Delilah nagged Samson until he revealed the secret of his strength.and thus betrayed his nazarite vow.she cut his hair and the Philistines overpowered him.

Although Samson came back to God at the end of his life 16:28,he never became the hero God had planned.
