Proverbs 26:4-5 shows us how to respond to fools (unbelievers and atheists), when they try to argue with us. It made me think of Mohammed Ali. He was a fighter, who knew when to attack and when to stay out of the reach of his opponent.

Have you ever argued with an atheist, a non-believer or a Jehovah’s witness? They are fools who refuse to see the Truth. They attack with what little they know and we often don’t know how to reply.

Look at how Jesus confronted the devil when He was tempted. He answered back with scripture, floating away like a butterfly. See how He answered the pharisees when they tried to question His authority (Matthew 21:23-27). He attacked like a bee.

Paul too knew when to keep silent and when to respond to the arguments of fools (2 Cor 11).

We have to be ready to defend our belief (1 Peter 3:15). At the same time, we shouldn’t get into arguments that are foolish (2 Tim 2:23-24).

Warriors of Christ have to train daily by studying the word and praying. We have to be ready at all times and in communication with Our Leader. Only then will we know when to fly like butterflies and when to sting like bees.

Proverbs: 25: 11

“A word fitly spoken is like
apples of gold in settings of
silver“

⚡We may have have
heard an old saying
” Timing is everything”
According to the Bible, good
timings apply to our words
and speeches too.

⚡ In Ecclesiastes we read
there is an appropriate time
to speak.( Eccl: 3: 7 )
Solomon compared properly
timed and well spoken words with golden apples in a silver setting – beautiful,
valuable, and carefully
crafted.

⚡ Knowing the right time to speak is beneficial for both the speaker and the hearer, whether they are words of love, rebuke or
encouragement. Keeping silent also has its place
and time. When tempted to
deride, belittle, or slander a
neighbour, Solomon said it
is wise to hold our tongue,
recognizing the appropriate time for silence. When
talkativeness or anger tempts us to sin against
God or another human being, resistance comes by
being slow to speak.

⚡ Conversely, the
inappropriateness of the
words is Vr: 20,” It is like
taking away a garment on a
cold day or pouring vinegar
on a wound”.

💫 It is often hard to know
what to say and and when to
say it. The Holy Spirit will help us to be discernig. He will help us use the right words at the right time and in the right manner, for the
good of others and for His
honour.

“Set a watch, O Lord, before
my mouth; keep the door of
my lips” (Psalm: 141: 3 )
