Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. (Romans 12:1)

In the Old Testament, for sacrifice to be acceptable, the person offering sacrifice should select a spotless animal and kill the animal. Death is needed for it be called a sacrifice.

In the New Testament, for our lives to be acceptable worship, a pleasing aroma, we need to offer ourselves as a dead sacrifice daily, as long as we live. In simple terms it is called a Living Sacrifice

Why to die daily?
To offer true and proper worship.

How to die daily?
By dying to the Soul and the Body, and by strengthening the inner man daily.

Die to Body means to put to death the evil desires of the flesh -Lust of flesh and Pride of life should be put to death.

All that is in the world—the lust and sensual craving of the flesh and the lust and longing of the eyes and the boastful pride of life [pretentious confidence in one’s resources or in the stability of earthly things]—these do not come from the Father, but are from the world.(1 John 2:16)

Die to Soul is to die to negative emotions of hatred, anger, unforgiveness, bitterness, murmuring, grumbling, self pity, self righteousness, jealousy, unrighteousness, laziness etc.

To make sure nothing that is listed in here is found in us even for a single second in our lives.

For people will be lovers of self [narcissistic, self-focused], lovers of money [impelled by greed], boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful,unholy and profane, [and they will be] unloving [devoid of natural human affection, calloused and inhumane], irreconcilable, malicious gossips, devoid of self-control [intemperate, immoral], brutal, haters of good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of [sensual] pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of [outward] godliness (religion), although they have denied its power [for their conduct nullifies their claim of faith]. (2 Timothy 3:2-5)

Strengthen Inner Man means building ourselves up in the most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keeping ourselves in the love of God as we await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring us eternal life. (Jude 1:20)

When we die to body, soul and strengthen our Spirit man we start living as Sacrifices, dead to the things of the world, things of the flesh, and start living for Lord Jesus.

All the three are important to be an acceptable sacrifice in God’s presence.

Let us live as Living Sacrifice till we meet the Lord face to face.

Let our Lord Jesus call our lives as Holy and Pleasing to God
