Saul takes his Life
For no fault of David Saul was just chasing after him to kill him. Jealousy was the main reason because the women sang praising more about David than Saul. David had two wonderful opportunities to kill Saul, but he did not want to do it against the Lord’s anointed. The evil that Saul had planned continuously against David turned back on himself and his three sons.
On the same day his three sons were killed by the Philistines and Saul was wounded severely and so he fell on his own sword and killed himself. Many times we see in the Bible that Whatever we sow we have to reap. We see that this truly happened in Saul’s life.
After this war the Israelites abandoned their towns and fled and the Philistines occupied them. Saul was unfaithful to the Lord. He did not keep the word of the Lord and even consulted a medium. So THE LORD PUT HIM TO DEATH and turned the kingdom over to David.
👑 David king of Israel 👑
David became very powerful. Joab was his commander-in-chief. The mighty men and all Israel gave his kingship strong support to extend it on to the whole land. Mighty warriors also joined David.
🔙 The Ark brought back 🔙
David sent word to all the territories, the priests and Levites to join them to bring back the ark of God. The ark had to be brought back from Kiriath Jearim from Abinadab’s house. David and all the Israelites were celebrating with all their might before God with songs and instruments.
Near the threshing floor of Kidon the oxen stumbled and Uzzah reached out his hand to steady the ark. The Lord was angry because he put his hand on the ark. So He struck him down and he died. David was afraid and the ark was taken to the house of Obed-Edom and the Lord blessed his house.
💫 David’s house & family 💫
Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David along with cedar logs, stone masons and carpenters to build a palace for him. His kingdom was highly exalted.
🔅 David enquired of Lord 🔅
David did not make his own decisions but always inquired of the Lord. When he was attacked by enemies, he inquired of the Lord and followed His instructions and he always had the victory over his enemies. David’s fame spread throughout every land and the Lord made all the nations fear him.
