Worry is unnatural and unhealthy

1 Chronicles 19: 13 “Be strong and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The LORD will do what is good in his sight.””

David’s commander, Joab, found himself in a dangerous battle situation where Ammorites conspired with the Syrians to attack Israel.

As the commander of Israel’s army, Joab knew their situation was threatening.

With the Ammorites on one side and the Syrians on the other, Joab and his men were sandwiched between their enemies.

But he didn’t quit, and he didn’t give in to despair, they didn’t surrender…….
……… Instead, he planned the best military strategy he could under the circumstances.
Just prior to battle, Joab said to his brother and his men, “Be strong, and let us use our strength for our people and for the cities of our God, and may the LORD do what seems good to him”

How do we handle stress?
All of us face situations that can cause anxiety. Some have even had to face the extreme stress of war with its threats of death, injury, or post traumatic stress syndrome.

Studies confirm that stress levels are higher than ever.

What will happen tomorrow?
Why is God taking so long?
Is it my fault, delaying my blessing?

The word of God encourages us repeatedly to put our trust in God an tells us that we don’t have to worry about anything.

Psalm 23 reminds us that we should not be afraid, even in the shadow of death, because God is with us.
Psalm 91 strongly encourage us to trust God even in the fiercest battles.
Joshua knew that he could be strong and courageous because the LORD was with him wherever he went.
Job knew that he would trust God even if God took his life.
Jesus told us not to fear the tribulations of this world, for he had overcome the world.
Paul said, don’t worry, but bring your concerns to God in prayer.

Worry is unnatural and unhealthy.
Worry has no good side.
It does not change anything to positive, but it makes everything worse.
We get unhappy and sad but the problems remain the same.

So why worry?
The Bible says that we don’t have to live this way.

We can find peace as we surrender our lives to Jesus and make Him our Lord.
God already knows everything we need.
If you feel stress or pressure, ……
Kneel down and Pray
Remember that all His promises are true, that He really has a plan for us..

Lets’ trust Him, He really can give us peace.
