Neglecting prayer can point out a sinful attitude

1 Sam 12:23 As for me far be it from me that I shouldn’t sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you and I will instruct you in the good and the right way

Samuel said in his farewell address to Israelites, if he didnot pray for them, he has sinned. Praying and Instruction were two of samuel’s major roles even after Saul was anointed as king.

Neglecting prayer can point out a sinful attitude of self sufficiency and independence. It would be wrong to try to solve a difficult situation with only human resources. It is also sinful to ignore a problem, choosing instead to just let things happen. True prayer comes from an attitude of dependance on the Lord, thanking Him for His provision, confessing a sin, expressing a need.

God’s word says praying at all times in the spirit Eph. 6:18 Teach others 2 Tim 2:2. Neglecting prayer and neglecting to pray for others is sin.
