Let us keep enquiring of the Lord, again and again
Let us keep enquiring of the Lord, again and again in this Lockdown, so that we know what to do, when we don’t know what to do… 2 Chronicles 34:21
📖The Book of Kings and the Book of the Chronicles are saying the same thing in a different way because God wants us to consolidate our learning by not repeating the mistakes of Israel and Judah. Just because we saw it once Or read it before, let us not skip the truths but go through the historical stories again and again.
📖We see another king sending for the priest and the administrative staff to enquire of the Lord on behalf of him, and the remnant in Judah and Israel. The king’s men went to the Prophetess Huldah, 2Chronicles 34:22. And God heard his prayer because of the steps he took, in 2Chronicles 34:27
📖What were the steps King Josiah that took which pleased God so much, that He delayed the judgement for the Judah and Jerusalem, 2Chronicles 34:28? Perhaps we can learn and apply the steps King Josiah took, so that, God in His Mercy could turn around this unprecedented and devastating pandemic situation. What happened to Israel is written for our instructions.
📖King Josiah had a responsive heart towards God. His heart was pliable and mouldable. He humbled himself as a king. He knew that the right throne belonged to God. He tore his kingly robes in repentance and submission to God’s authority. As a king, he was not ashamed to weep in godly sorrow on behalf of his people.
📖Child of God, Remember this, God will never change, Malachi 3:6. We are the ones who has to change. If God heard Josiah’s prayer, He will hear our prayers in Christ Jesus much more, provided we take all the steps that Josiah took in true humility and repentance, seeking and weeping, acknowledging God’s power and authority and submitting to it wholeheartedly.
When we do what God wants us to do, He will do, what He needs to do for us to turn this pandemic situation around to bring glory to His Name…. Amen 🙏
