Final Escape and Night to Remember

Final Escape
God brings the Israelites to a place of extreme peril. There is the sea, Egyptians, the mountains around them and they are hemmed in when people of Israel saw Egyptians chasing behind them, they were afraid. Instead of believing that the lord who demonstrated His power will save them, the Israelites cried to Moses. But Moses tells the people _

  1. Stand still and see Ex14:13,14 They must stand still and let God work. You have to trust Him.
  2. The Lord shall fight for you It is a conflict between the Lord and Egypt and against the gods of Egypt. The Lord is going to execute judgement It will bring peace to their troubled hearts.
  3. Go forward Ex 14v15 God told Moses to tell the people to move on. The impossible has become possible. By faith they passed the Red sea. When God commands, He enables.
  4. God’s protection Ex 14:v19_20 The pillar of cloud/fire came between the people and the enemy.

Does He not say concerning Israel Thou art mine

🌹 Night to Remember 🌹

A lot can happen overnight. That is what happened in the land of Egypt. The Israelites were in bonded slavery in Egypt. God heard their groans and send Moses to deliver them from Egypt. But Pharoah refused to let go of them. A tug of war was going on and suddenly God turned things in favour of Israelites overnight. Now let us have an indepth look at the happenings on that particular night.

Solemn Night
For the Israelites it was a solemn night of worship. God instituted the Passover for them. They applied the blood of the lamb on the top and on both sides of the door (Ex 12:22). They remained in their houses behind locked doors. Perhaps they might have felt the passing over of the Angel of the Lord over their houses!

Scary Night
To the Egyptians it was a scary night. They were thrown out of their wits when the Lord struck their firstborn at midnight (Ex 12:29). There was loud wailing throughout Egypt as there was a death in each Egyptian house. Did it remind them of the wailings of the Hewbrew mothers when their male babies were thrown into the Nile?

Summoned Night
Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and told them to leave Egypt with ALL their belongings and catle. The Egyptians forced the Israelites to hurry and leave their country immediately. He who refused to leave them earlier now literally chased them out.

Compensatory Night
Moses instructed the Israelites to borrow from the Egyptians articles of gold and silver and also clothings. The Israelites got whatever they asked the Egyptians. Was God compensating the Israelites for all the financial losses they had endured during years of slavery?

Freedom Night
The Israelites had lived in Egypt for 430 years. At the end of the 430th year, on that very same day God brought them out of Egypt. The Bible says God kept vigil that night to bring them out of Egypt (Ex 13:42). God knows when to deliver His people and how to deliver them. He is never too late neither too early. He is a God who does everything beautiful in His time.

Dogs that Night
Dogs usually bark whenever there is activity going on at night. They might have howled at the Egyptian houses. But the Israelites were starting to exit Egypt. There was a lot of activity and sounds in their houses. But not a single dog barked at any Israelite man or his animal (Ex 11:7). God made a clear distinction between the Israelites and the Egyptians.

Dear Ones in Christ, a lot can happen in our lives overnight. For the past few months the entire world is fighting over an unseen foe. People all over the world are praying earnestly for this pestilence to stop. Let not our heart despair. God who brought the Israelites out at the right time will deliver the entire world in His time. He hears our prayers and He will certainly answer. He who preserved and protected the Israelites will continue to guide and guard us until this calamity passes away.

God bless us to be channels of blessings.
