Isaiah.41:5-7 explain about the fear of the nations who worship man made idols.

Isa.41:8, start with “but” a contrast between the idolatrous nations whom God will destroy and Israel whom God will deliver. Specially chosen by God to serve Him. Abraham was a friend of God and God is concerned about the descendants of His friend. We also becomes His friends, if we obey Him in everything and lead a life pleasing to Him.

What God did for them? Isa.41:9.
I took you from the ends of the earth… Abraham, the father of the Jews, taken from the remote Ur of the Chaldees. I called you, I have chosen you… God’s initiative and not because of Israel’s achievement.

So what is God’s promise to His people? Isa.41:10.

Do not fear, I am with you. This is both a command and a promise. We must take it seriously because God is telling this.

Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. The God of all power and glory. If we forget the greatness of God, we can get dismayed.

I will strengthen you and help you. God’s strength and glory make Him able to help us.

I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
WHAT will happen to your enemies? Isa.41:11.

All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. God will deal with our enemies if we keep our trust in Him. He knows how to put them to shame.( Please read God’s promise to Abraham.Genesis.12:3)

Do not fear, I will help you. Isa.41:13. We see God’s hand holding our right hand, and giving us strength over fear, doubt and our adversaries.

Isa.41:14-19. God is telling them, what all God is going to do for Israel.

GOD’S PROMISES.
I myself will help you. Isaiah.41:14.

You will thresh the mountains and crush them 41:15. Nothing, not even a mountain, will stand in their way when God help them.

I the Lord will answer them., a prayer answering God.
I,the God of Israel will not forsake them. 41:17. Always with His children, in any and every situation.

I will make rivers flow on barren heights. I will turn the parched ground into springs. 41:18. Is anything too difficult for the Lord?

Isa.41:20. So that people may see and know may consider and understand that the hand of the Lord has done this that the holy one of Israel has created this.

May God do great things in the life of His children so that others may understand who has done this.

Are we going through fearful situations?
What is God commanding us about fear?

Do we believe in God’s promises? Is our God, a promise keeping God?

Isaiah 39

In this Chapter, God checks out king Hezekiah’s motivation for all the acts of obedience to the laws of God that he carried out throughout his reign, 2 Chronicles 32:31.

When the king of Babylon, sent envoys with letters and a gift to Hezekiah, on hearing that Hezekiah had been ill and had recovered, Hezekiah welcomed them and showed them everything in his palace and in his whole kingdom, Isaiah 39:1,2.

When Isaiah the prophet heard who they were, and from where they came and that king Hezekiah showed them everything in his palace and all his treasuries, vs 3,4, then Isaiah prophesied to king Hezekiah that in the days to come everything in his palace and the things that his ancestors had accumulated would be carried away to Babylon and nothing would be left behind, vs 5-7!

Instead of grieving over this prophetic Word and interceding for the people concerned to repent, such that God would not permit this to happen, king Hezekiah was glad to hear that there would be peace and stability during his lifetime, and showed no concern whatsoever for the pathetic plight of the generations to come, vs 8! This teaches us that we could be doing everything right, yet with a very self-centred motive!

Let us ask God to search us too, so that we may know our hearts, and to try us so that we may know our thoughts, so that we can see if there be any wicked way in us, that we may use those opportunities to repent and cleanse ourselves from the same, so as to be lead in His perfect and everlasting way, that is free from all forms of selfish ambition and that seeks for God’s purposes and glory alone to be manifested in and through our lives, Psalm 139:23,24. Amen.
