A number of prophecies against the nations are recorded in Isaiah Chapters 13 to 23 @ Babylon, Assyria, Philistines, Moab, Damascus, Cush, Egypt, Edom, Arabia, Jerusalem and Tyre. Commonly PRIDE and UNGODLINESS was the cause of God’s wrath and judgement upon them.

๐Ÿ“ The Bible says, “For the Lord Almighty has purposed and who can thwart him ? His hand is stretched out, who can turn it back” ? Isaiah 14 : 27

THE FALL OF BABYLON
( ๐Ÿ“– Isaiah 14 : 12-23 )
๐Ÿ“ The Bible depicts “Babylon as the jewel of kingdoms” ( 13:19a ). It was a powerful nation on the face of the earth but when God’s wrath and judgement falls upon them then the nations pondered and said :
“Is this the man who shook the earth and made kingdoms tremble, the man who made the world a desert, who overthrew its cities and would not let his captives go home ? ( 14:15-17 )

WHAT WAS WRONG โ“

๐Ÿ“ The Bible tells us that the Lord had used Babylon as an instrument to punish his people ( “I am raising up the Babylonians.. to seize dwelling places not their own” โœ’๏ธ Habakkuk 1:6 ). But the glory of the Babylonians was its PRIDE ( 13:19 ) and as result “they will be overthrown like Sodom and Gomorrah” ( 13:19b ; 14: 12 )

๐Ÿ“ The Bible says, “PRIDE goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a FALL” ( Prov 16:18 )

๐Ÿ“Œ P R I D E – a Five Letter word conceived a Five-fold affirmations inside the heart of the Morning Star, the son of the dawn – Babylon ( v 12-14 ) that leads to its destruction :

3) I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly.
4) I will ascend above the tops of the clouds.
5) I will make myself like the Most High.

๐Ÿ“Œ The Lord had pronounced his judgement ( v 15 ) with stern actions ( v 22-23 ) :
1) I will rise up against them.
2) I will cut off from Babylon her name, survivors, offspring and descendants.
3) I will turn her into a place for owls and into swampland.
4) I will sweep her with the broom of destruction.
๐Ÿ“ The Bible and the world history recorded the fall and the destruction of Babylon ( “.. they were brought down to the grave.. v 15 )

๐Ÿ’ž Beloved Church, Peter writes : God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. He further exhorts us to “be humble under God’s mighty hand, and he will lift us up in His time” โœ’๏ธ 1Pet 5:5-6
