The reverential fear of God, puts you on the path of acquiring wisdom. Solomon started well. He collected wisdom like jewellery; godly pearls of wisdom.

Parents put the first string of spiritual jewellery as garlands on our heads and chains on our necks (Prov 1:8-9, 4:1-4, 5:1).

As we learn to savour the Word and dwell on it, love and faithfulness are added to our necks and written on our hearts. These spiritual jewels on the inside and outside, make us win favour with God and man (Prov 3:3-4, 4:5-9, 8:34-35).

As we allow the Spirit to write God’s (our Parent) words on our heart, we learn to trust completely in God and not lean on our own understanding (Prov 3:5).

Solomon’s advice to hold on to a parent’s instruction is strewn all through his Proverbs [Prov 4:2, 6:20, 7:3…].

However, Solomon allowed his love for collecting earthly jewellery (wives, riches, horses…) dominate; he stopped wearing His jewelry.

Let us pray that we never allow our fascination for worldly riches dominate. Let us pray that we keep collecting His pearls of wisdom and use them to rest in His favour, calm in the storm. Stay blessed.

Consequences

Dishonor: lest you fall to her temptation and lose your honor Prov 5:9
Poverty: lest strangers obtain your wealth Prov 5:10
Disease:…when syphilis consumes your body Prov 5:11
Disgrace: I must face public disgrace prov 5:14

Run and Avoid: Run from her Dont go near her house Prov 5:8
Caution: watch yourself Prov 5:2

Don’t listen: They will keep you away from other men’s wives,from women with seductive words prov 7:5
Don’t dream about her: Don’t go wondering after her prov 7:25.
