Generosity to poor comes back

Proverbs 22

❇️ A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor (v9)

❇️ Above saying can be easily verified by practising generosity to poor. Following verses in the Bible support this truth.

▶️ Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and whoever sows generously will also reap generously – 2 Cor.9:6
▶️ It is more blessed to give than to receive – Acts 20:35
▶️ A generous man will prosper ; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed – Pro.11:25

❇️ Generally people are more generous with those who can return their favour than with the poor who can’t return the help received.

❇️ People do not give because they think they will loose what they give to the poor. This is because their security is their money and not the Lord who gives them and they don’t trust the word of God hence fear their security being lost.

❇️ The logic for this truth is found in Pro.19:17 which says,” He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord and he will reward him for what he has done “. This makes it clear that God will more than adequately reward those who help poor.

❇️ I want to testify to this truth from my own life just to encourage you to experience God’s benevolence.

❇️ When we as a family obeyed God’s prompting to support a poor child for her entire education through World Vision we were in for a great surprise. One of our relatives soon after our decision, out of the blues paid the fees, at one go, for our two sons’ collegiate education for their entire course without our asking which was much more than what we gave.

❇️ This can only be the confirmation of the verse in Pro. 22:9 and Pro.19.17 which says, “He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord and he will reward him for what he has done” since God is no debtor to anyone.

✅ Insights learnt:
▪️God blesses those who bless the poor
▪️God is no debtor to anyone

Prov. 26:27 whoever digs a pit will fall into it and a stone will come back on him who starts it rolling

It is a warning that our intentions may boomerang. Those who seek to harm others will find the evil they plan coming back to harm them Haman intented evil for Mordecai but he was harmed.
So donot prepare a hidden trap for someone, because you will be the one who will be harmed.
