We serve a God who loves His church, His children, His bride. Jesus came the first time for the sake of the whole world, but He will come back the second time for those whom He knows and loves, His bride (not everyone). The above scripture portion tells us the importance of church life in our lives. The first verse tells us that our soul should long to be in the house of God. The second verse tells us that those who dwell in the house of the Lord will not perish, but they will keep praising God for all His goodness. The third verse tells us that those who are regular church goers they will go from strength to strength and everyone shall appear before God in Zion (not everyone). The fourth verse tells us that it is better to live a day in the house of God than a thousand elsewhere.

Believers are God’s blood bought children, so we should try to assemble with fellow believers in church, Bible study or prayer meetings. The reason why we should go to church is to seek the face of God, hear His word and voice and get connected to Him. Many people argue and debate that in the new covenant God dwells within us, so there is no need to go to church. Jesus didn’t die for us alone, He died for each one of us who believes in Him, He is not coming back for one person, but He is coming back for the whole church, His bride. On the day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit didn’t come on one person, it came on every one who were present in the upper room. Unity was the criteria for Pentecost, we should attend church services along with fellow believer’s, so that we can be caught up along with them on the day of rapture.

There are many religious people who go to church only on festive days. The above verse tells us that those who are regular church goers only will appear before God in heaven (not everyone). Many go to churches with different agenda in their hearts and minds. Some go to church to compete with others in elections become a leader (nice profession) sell of church property make money, name, fame and sucess. Some have made it a business place, they come to promote themselves and their business products and services. There are very few who come to seek the face of God, hear His word and voice and get connected to Him and move and spread the Gospel. Are you one among the few ?.

There was a man who was above forty years old (Acts 4:22) he was born lame from his mothers womb, he was carried to the gate of the temple called Beautiful to seek alms for his livelihood, he encountered Peter and John in the temple and received his healing. There was another man named Lazarus in the Bible (Luke 16) he was in poverty and sickness, he was laid at the richmans gate desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table, after his death angels carried him into heaven (every saved and born again believer after death is carried into heaven by angels) but he lost heaven on earth, had he simply sat at the temple instead of the rich man’s gate God would have healed him. The lame man in the book of acts knew God and he loved the house of God for forty years he went everyday to the house of God and in the end he received his healing.

Lazarus knew God, but he didn’t love the house of God that is why he sat at the richmans gate everyday not in the house of God, he made it to heaven, but he didn’t enjoy heaven on earth, he went to heaven after living a defeated and worn out life with poverty and sickness on this earth whereas the lame man kept going to the house of God inspite of his Invalidness, he received his healing might have lived a long life on this earth and he might have done a mighty work for God on this earth and then he should have entered heaven victoriously. It pays to be a regular church goer, going to church and seeking His face, hearing His word, voice, getting connected to Him and moving and spreading the Gospel brings in rich earthly and eternal rewards.

Now therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.

Ephesians 2:19.
Heavenly Father thank You for the word, thank You for the free gift of salvation and eternal life. Lord give us the grace to attend church, Bible study and prayer meetings regularly to seek Your face, hear Your word, voice and to get connected with You on a regular basis. Lord we uphold every church and person who is active in moving and spreading of the Gospel, guide, guard, protect and provide for them, give them the grace to spread the Gospel and wait for the second coming of Jesus in Jesus name we ask and pray.
