The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord

Romans 6: 23: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

In this chapter we are dealing with a very practical problem, one that every Christian must struggle with.
The problem is stated by the apostle very plainly in the first verse of this chapter: “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?”

This whole sixth chapter deals with what happens when a believer sins.

We do not like to think that believers do sin; but, unfortunately, we do.

The person who does not place his or her faith in Jesus Christ will receive the wages of sin.

What’s the difference between a wage and a gift?

*A wage is something you earn.
*A gift is something you don’t earn, and can’t earn.

You deserve your wages.

*You don’t deserve a free gift. Otherwise it wouldn’t be free.

“The wages” refers to a payment.
When a person works, the person receives a wage or payment for the work.
So… Those whose “work” is sin will receive a payment of spiritual death.

How can we avoid the “wages of sin” and escape the spiritual death?

We must place our faith in Christ.

Then, out of our trust in Him and our love for Him,………

We must obey Him

Dear Friends… Now we are free to live in obedience to God and undergo the process of sanctification.

As part of that sanctification, we begin to experience eternal life even while on this earth.
And, ultimately, we will spend eternity with God.

All things for good Rom8:28 Is often quoted to offer comfort and encouragement during hard times.
All things work together for good but not all things are good. We are not promised immunity from pain. Everyday we must put up with much that is not good.
Nevertheless good can come out of bad .Romans 8:28 promises that God uses all circumstances of our lives _ both good and bad _to accomplish His plans for us .His plans can only be good because He is wholly good James 1:17Thank God for His power and goodness.
