God wants wives who could serve in His vineyard

🌹 Wives Era 🌹
Was it wives era during those times? Because three wives are mentioned in the three chapters of today’s Bible portion.

🧕 Deborah 🧕
Deborah is the first one to be mentioned.

📖 Now Deborah, a prophet, the wife of Lappidoth, was leading Israel at that time (Judges 4:4).

The Israelites were led at time by a woman who was a prophetess and she was the wife of Lappidoth.

Deborah was in the forefront leading an entire nation. Her office was under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel. The Israelites approached her for their disputes to be settled.

Added to her political life, she was the wife of Lappidoth. God used a wife to lead an entire nation.

Jael
Jael was the wife of Heber the Kenite. She was a simple wife who dwelt in a tent taking care of her family. When situation demanded she acted boldly and bravely.

📖 But Jael, Heber’s wife, picked up a tent peg and a hammer and went quietly to him while he lay fast asleep, exhausted. She drove the peg through his temple into the ground, and he died (Judges 4:421).

She needed great determination, accurate calculation, full strength and total concentration to drive the peg with one strike through his temple into the ground. It would turn risky if she missed the first attempt.

But God gave her the strength. And here God used a simple house wife to bring about a great deliverance. She appears for a scene and disappears quietly.

👵🏻 Sisera’s Mother 👵🏻
Sisera’s mother is a wife who stayed home watching for her son through the window. The Bible does not mention her name. She waited and waited in vain for her slain son. This woman raised up her son who grew to be a mighty warrior.

📖 “Through the window peered Sisera’s mother; behind the lattice she cried out, ‘Why is his chariot so long in coming? Why is the clatter of his chariots delayed?’ (Judges 5:28).

Today we saw three wives. One was in the limelight, another was in her tent and the third wife raised up a mighty warrior. God used each one in unique ways.

Dear ones in Christ, God wants wives who could serve in His vineyard. He looks only for the availability and not for the capability.

Dear wives, this is a special call for you in this women’s era. Are you ready to dedicate yourself for Him? Ignore your physical infirmities. When we sincerely commit ourselves, He will use us where we live in His own unique way. Wives, please rise up to the occasion. Arise and let your light shine forth.

God bless us to be channels of blessings
