Greetings of Mary
Luke 1: 40-56. Here we read that Mary went to Zachariah’s house and greeted Elizabeth. Let us meditate how powerful and meaningful was her greetings.
- When Elizabeth heard the greetings of Mary, the 5 months baby leaped in her womb. From this we understand, when we greet someone truely from the depth of our heart, definitely it will bring blessing and happiness in their life. When we visit someone’s house, we greet them saying, good morning or praise the Lord. Today through whatsup, face book or any media in the internet, we greet people for various occassions. But if we greet them from a true heart, filled with the Holy Spirit like Mary, definitely it will bring blessing in their life.
Jesus also told in Mathew 10:12, 13 that when you go to a house, greet them, if that house is worthy, let your peace be upon them. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. Therefore when we visit a house, let us greet them from the depth of our heart with a prayer for the Lord to save them and to prepare them for the eternal life.
- Also when Elizabeth heard the greetings of Mary, Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. What a great experience!
- Moreover, Elizabeth prophesied about Mary and about the child which is going to be born as our Lord.
- Mary, who greeted Elizabeth also glorified God with a song and stayed in her house for 3 months. What a great blessed relationship!
Yes, if we visit a house, or stay in a house, that house should be blessed. We should not simply tell thank you, and the food was very tasty etc. But we should greet them and bless them truly from our heart, so that they will be blessed with peace, happiness, health and worthy to enter heaven. Like Mary, let us also magnify God .Amen. Hallelujah.

Luke 1:5-25
Zechariah and Elizabeth were without any children because she was barren. At that time in Israel, barrenness was considered a terrible disgrace.
At their advanced age, this couple never gave up faith in God.
Verse 6 tells us that, regardless of unanswered prayer, they were righteous before the Lord.
God knew the desire of their hearts. God eventually blessed them with an answer to their prayers that was greater than they could have dreamed or dare to ask for. They were selected to bring forth the child about whom the Lord himself would state: “Among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist” – Matthew 11:11
