Let us Feed on Forgiveness at the Dinner Table Simon set for Jesus
Luke 6:37 “Do not judge others, and God will not judge you; do not condemn others, and God will not condemn you; forgive others, and God will forgive you.”
In the above verse, Jesus gives as 4 commands.
He gives two of them negatively, and then he gives two of them positively.
- Do Not Judge,
- Do Not Condemn,
- Forgive,
- Give.
What does Jesus really mean here? What does He mean by Judge not?
There are many examples in our daily lives of ways we judge others.
We always judge others when they don’t reach our expectations.
It’s easy to fall into the trap of comparison and condemnation; both traps can cause us to think we are better than our fellow believers.
When we think we are better than those around us, we are being arrogant.
Being judgmental is a temptation that we all must resist.
The word ‘Condemn” means “to find fault with openly,”
We are not to place ourselves in God’s role. It’s right for God to judge and condemn.
Lent is a period of reconciliation with others. It is an act of worship presented to God.
It is also an appropriate time to evaluate ourselves.
Self-examination requires humility;
Ask ourselves these questions:
Am I have a merciful spirit or by a critical, judgmental spirit?
Am I frequently judging my own life?
Am I truly born again?
Let’s use this time of lent to forgive our brothers and sisters from our heart and to grow in a life of prayer and repentance.

Lockdown Reflections… 📝
Food from my Host’s Kitchen Table 🍽️🍯🥛🍴
Take a Break with Jesus in the Lockdown 🍞☕
Day 222, 270 Days Bible Reading, Sunday, 21.2.21.
In this Lockdown Let us Feed on Forgiveness at the Dinner Table Simon set for Jesus… Luke 7:36-50.
👏🏼 The Best time together is at the Table. The Table is also a Place where you feed yourself while feeding others. Above all the Table should be a Place to recognise that God is the Giver of our Food and all the Family Members should be Invited to Taste and See that the Lord is Good, Psalm 34:8. In this Lockdown there is more time now than ever before to have a family dinner because of our working from home and online school at home.
👏🏼 Jesus, in Luke’s Gospel, can be seen at various table settings. The Pharisees knew that Jesus loved food and that He ate with people they disliked most. That He held His Discipleship Classes and Discourses for His Disciples around the Table, and someone once said that, “Jesus ate good food with bad people.” The bad people in the eyes of the society of Jesus’ days were the tax collectors and sinners.
👏🏼 Let us today, Feed on Forgiveness at the Dinner Table Simon set for Jesus in Luke 7:36-50. The Table Settings in Luke’s Gospel is the Table of Teaching the Truth. In Luke 7:47-50, there is so much to unpack on Forgiveness at the Table. Why should we Forgive? The Simple Answer is because God Said So in His Word. “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you,” Ephesians 4:32. Forgiveness is an act of kindness for the tenderhearted. Jesus Forgave. “Then said Jesus: ‘Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.’ And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.” Luke 23.34.
👏🏼 What is Alarming is that so many well-meaning Believers are caught up in the Web of Unforgiveness. Even people serving in the Ministries are sadly trapped in this unforgiveness entanglement. How can we win souls effectively if we cannot forgive? We are Forgiven to Forgive. The Good News Of the Gospel is THE FORGIVENESS OF SIN, Acts 13:38-39.
👏🏼 Child of God, Remember this, It is Mandatory to Forgive As we Stand To Pray. ““And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses,” Mark 11:25. We must forgive so that Satan doesn’t take advantage of us. Unforgiveness is his breeding ground. In Love I have helped many people to forgive others and to forgive themselves. How can I pray for them if unforgiveness is operating in their lives? This is an area many struggle with, especially those in the Lord’s Ministry.
👏🏼 It is very hard to forgive someone who has wrecked your life. Only a Revelation of How Much He Loves us can free us to freely forgive. It is easy to preach about Forgiveness, but we must come alongside and teach how to do it. Forgive means To Go Forward and Give. It is vital that we forgive for our Spiritual and Physical Well-being! We have to make quality decisions to keep the Love Command to Forgive, and it should be Foremost in our Thought, Life And Action.
👏🏼 The Humble are those who Believe What God Has Said in His Word. The Humble are those who ask God For His Help. God Gives Grace to the Humble, 1 Peter 5:5. Grace is a Gift accessed by Faith. A Gift is to be Received with Humility. Reach out and Receive this gift right now to forgive. According to the Riches of His Grace, God Has Forgiven Us, Ephesians 1:7, So that, we by His Grace and Faith, can Forgive others. It takes humility to Forgive, so the Humble receives the Grace to do it. Unforgiveness is Satan’s property. It’s an open door for him to create spiritual blockages. Forgiveness belongs to God; it opens up the Gateway to the Throne of Grace. Let us feed on the Word of Jesus in this Lockdown and be radical in forgiveness… Amen. 🙏
