Numbers 9:23 So they camped or traveled at the lord’s command and they did whatever the Lord told them through Moses.

When Israel was in the wilderness, God led the nation with a pillar of cloud and fire. The cloud provided shade from the sun in the hot desert and the fire showed them the way at night. It showed God’s care for His people.

When the cloud lifted, the people of Israel would set out and when the cloud stopped, they camped. Sometimes the cloud would linger for a few days and sometimes it lingered for many months.(vs 19,22)

The people were travelling with their little children, their tents and animals and they had to set up and undo their tents by themselves. They camped or traveled at the Lord’s command thro’ Moses. The Lord taught them to obey Him.

A true servant of God should never complain when God tells him to do what is inconvenient. He had to obey Him instantaneously like the angels in heaven.

The pillar is a picture of the Holy spirit. You must be led by the spirit in your daily life. Those who are led by the spirit are the sons of God. Rom 8:14
