Repay the goodness of Lord, for all His goodness

How can I repay the goodness of Lord, for all His goodness to me in this Lockdown situation?… Psalm 116:12.

🎶 The Psalmist is so overwhelmed with God’s goodness that he wants to repay God by giving something. But he also knows that whatever he gives back is God’s anyway. Everything comes from God. In this lockdown God has been so good, and I am experiencing God’s goodness daily. I realise that the only way to give Him is to receive with a grateful heart what He has for me. Whatever I try to give will not outweigh His giving. The one thing I can give back is a sacrifice of praise or a sacrifice of thanksgiving, Psalm 116:17.

🎶 In Psalm 116:17, it says, I will offer to Thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD. Thanksgiving has always been God’s plan for His people. Jesus has replaced animal sacrifice and now we bring our verbal praise that is sacrificial, Hebrew 13:15. By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His Name.

🎶 Child of God, Remember this, Thanksgiving is not about our resources; it is about our attitude towards God’s provision, protection, plan and purpose. But there will be a cost involved, 2 Samuel 24:24. Going through a crisis situation, doing the will of God with thanksgiving, is our sacrificial offering. Thanksgiving is an evidence of faith when we know God. We should be thankful to Him for all He has done in our lives especially in this lockdown.

🎶 Thanksgiving reveals the depth of our relationship with God. Too often we take God and those around us, for granted. In this Lockdown, as I evaluate my life, I realized how much more I should make thanksgiving as my lifestyle. In 2 Corinthians 9:15, Paul wrote, Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift.

🎶 Thanksgiving has to be costly as we live as a living sacrifice, Romans 12:2. It should be correctly done from the heart, Psalm 9:1, and must be continual, Ephesians 5:20. Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ… Amen. 🙏
