📖 SONG OF SONGS CHAPTER 7
The book of Song of Songs calls us to enjoy LOVE in its physical and relational richness in marriage. We may even enjoy the pleasure of indulging our loved one in luxuries as an expression of our devotion. But true devotion expresses itself in fidelity, sacrifice and honour.

Sexuality and spiritual discernment

Today’s passage depicts sexual oneness between spouses – we can surmise that the intention is exclusively between spouses. The bridegroom ( lover ) expresses the beauty of his bride ( beloved ) in a literal means of communication ( feet, legs, navel, waist, breasts, neck, eyes, nose, head, hair and mouth ).
Appreciating spouses is a good gestures. When was the last time you have expressed your love and appreciation to your spouse ?

📌 SEX IS A WONDERFUL GIFT FROM GOD, but like all of God’s gifts, it requires STEWARDING. As sexual beings, by nature we long for sexual expression with others. But as a Christians we are given guidelines to experience sexuality in a loving and committed marriage relationship.

📝 The Bible says, “Marriage should be honoured by all , and the marriage bed be kept pure , for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral” Heb 13:4

📌 How are we to steward this beautiful gift ( SEX ) that our culture so often sullies through commercialization , exploitation and misuse ❓

📝 The Bible says, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” Rom 12:2a .
✅ For Christians to respond to and reform culture, we must understand the pattern of this world. Then we must avoid conforming to its ungodly elements through the transformation that comes in the renewing of our minds.
✅ This transformation produces DISCERNMENT, giving us the ability to know what is ungodly.
✅ DISCERNMENT is a special type of spiritual insight , God expects every Christian to develop with the help of the Holy Spirit.

📝 God commands us to “preserve sound judgement and DISCERNMENT , do not let them out of your sight”. Prov 3:21

✅ Spiritual Discernment is the link between knowledge of the Word of God and the application of this knowledge to our cultural experience.

💕 Beloved Church, just as the temple of God, let us exercise our SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT to combat the things that are not pleasing to God .

🙏 Dear God, thank you for your good gifts , including the gift of making me a sexual being. I thank you that you have created me in this way.
Help me to steward this gift properly in order to bring your honor and glory. Amen 🛐
