Confess your true state

1 Chronicles 4: 10
And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

His mother called his name Jabez, saying, I bare him with sorrow.
His prayer was recorded in the Holy Bible. What could be the signifance of his prayer?
He was clear about what he’s praying for. Jabez means born in grief.
He realized his true state and prayed unto God that the meaning of his name may not be fulfilled in his life. And God granted his request.

Coming to the new covenant period, this is the prayer of confession.
We should understand that we were born in sin and the yoke of curse was upon us.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us (1 John 1:8)

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Rom 3:23)

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.(Jam 5:16)

Going back to Genesis when God asked Jacob, his name he said Jacob.
Jacob means cheater, trickster.
He confessed his true state to God. God blessed him and changed his name as Israel.

The foremost thing we have to understand is our true state.
Without realizing and confessing your true state, you cannot expect an answer for your prayer.

You may be cursed by someone!
Your conscience might be accused by your mistakes!
Your situation and circumstances might be in confusion!
You may be entangled in the paths of impossibilities and difficulties!

Don’t worry! take it to the Lord in prayer and confess your true state to Him.
He will grant all your requests according to His will.

Stay blessed 😊
