Take a Break with Jesus in the Lockdown 🍞☕
Day 241, 270 Days Bible Reading, Friday, 12.3.21.

In this Lockdown, can we not hesitate to proclaim the whole will of God to others and do the whole will of God for our lives until we finish our race? …Acts 20:24-27.

🙏 In his final letter to Timothy, he declared, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith”, 2 Timothy 4:7. That was the message he wanted to leave with the elders from Ephesus, Acts 20:24-35. Paul was sharing the secrets of his ministry on how to finish strong until the end of life. I know many who started with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm to serve the Lord, but have given up when faced with criticism.

🙏 Child of God, Remember this, to finish the course, we must put the ministry that we received from the Lord, even above life itself as Paul did. Even though Paul knew the dangers that awaited him, he did not hesitate to go to Jerusalem, Acts 20:22-23. Each of us has a calling, and we are provided with the gift of the Holy Spirit to serve one another, 1 Peter 4:10. To stay on track and finish the course, we must recognize that it is God who has called us and He will be faithful to see that we finish the course, provided we are still in the race, 1 Thessalonians 5:24.

🙏 Paul didn’t see himself as a volunteer and took voluntary retirement by the Mediterranean beach when he knew he was going to face unprecedented, life-threatening challenges. He was like a soldier receiving his orders to complete the assignment and do the whole will of God till the end, Acts 20:27. The Bible makes it clear that following Jesus will mean hardship at some level, even though not all go through what Paul went through. Jesus told both the disciples, and the crowd, that they have to deny themselves and take up their cross daily to follow Him, Mark 8:34-35. This is a process right from salvation to sanctification until our race is over.

🙏 When we are drafted in the Lord’s army, we are there to serve till the end. That’s because we are under orders to obey and serve faithfully to the finishing line, doing the whole will of God. This lockdown is a great time to realign with the will of God for those of us who have gone off track, off course and off God’s radar. Let’s get back on God’s track, and finish strong for the Lord by being faithful witnesses to the Gospel of God’s grace, Acts 20:24. Let’s keep on feeding and proclaiming on the whole counsel and purpose of God’s Word (Acts 20:27) to help us keep our eyes on the finishing line… Amen. 🙏
