Romans:1 “Gospel righteousness”

❇️ For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith.(v17)

❇️ I heard, a man of God saying good people can not go to heaven only righteous people go to heaven.But there is no one righteous, not even one (Rom.3:10).But anyone can be made righteous by what the
Lord has done on the cross and his righteousness is imputed to us by faith.

❇️ When the whole world is trying to become righteous by their deeds(works) which is futile since we are justified by our faith (Rom.5:1). When we depend on our good deeds to be saved the grace of God has no place in our life. We are not saved by good works but saved to do good works.

❇️ No one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law (Rom.3:20) But through the obedience of the one man (Jesus) many will be made righteous(Rom.5:19) Paul says we are all called to obedience that comes from faith (Rom.1:5) to the one who kept the law in order to be saved.

❇️ Instead of trusting in our own righteousness which is a filthy rag (Isa 64:6) we can be sure of our Salvation which is the end of our faith by the imputation of the righteousness of Jesus Christ revealed in the gospel.

❇️ Right way to retain the righteousness by faith in our life is to increase our faith by exercising the following types of faith in our prayer, actions, communication & relationships

▪️Protecting faith : Eph.6:16
▪️Overcoming faith:1 Jn.5:5
▪️Confident faith: Lk.8:22-25
▪️Enduring faith: Acts 27
▪️Hiding faith: Ps.57:1(Hiding from Corona virus by staying at home)

✅ Insights learnt:
▪️Righteousness by faith is from the gospel
▪️We are saved and justified by faith to do good works
▪️Righteousness of Christ is imputed to us by faith
▪️Faith is strengthened by daily exercise
