1.Zec 1:7-17
Here we see horses in different colors. They represent nations like Assyria Babylon Persia and Greece. While the gentiles are calm and peaceful Israelis are facing trials. God Promised them rest in verse 14.

2.Zec 1: 18-21
The four horns are again 4 nations which conquered Israel and took them into captivity.

3.In Zech 2:1-12
A man was measuring Jerusalem. During the millennium Jerusalem would grow to vast proportions and need no walls because God’s protection will be there.

4.Zech 3:1-10
Joshua the High priest in those days was standing and Satan was accusing him His filthy clothes represent the sins of the people. He was given splendid righteous clothes.

5.Zech 4:1-4
Building the temple will be done not by might (resources) or strength (army or ability). The source to rebuild the temple would be spirit of God. Seven branches of the lamp stand are seven fold spirit of God. (Isaiah 11:2)Two olive trees are Zerubbabel Governor of Judea and High Priest Joshua , kingly and priestly branches of Israel. They will lead the disheartened people.

6.Zech 5 :1-4
This flying scroll means the severity and totality of Divine judgment on sin in Israel and gentile nations. The Lord His word and His law would judge the sinful people. He wants His habitation to be holy.

7.Zech 5 :5-11
The woman represents the iniquity of the people. She was taken in a basket by two angels to Babylon. It is the place Shinar where human race rebelled against God by building a Tower of Babel .So sin will be taken back to its roots and then righteous can reign.

  1. Zech 6:1-8
Here we see divine judgment on gentile nations. Red horse for blood shed, black horse for for death, dappled horse for tribulation and white horse for triumph. HERE WE SEE GOD’S PLAN UNFOLDING. WE ARE PART TAKERS OF ALL HIS BLESSINGS.

In this book we can see 3 very significant names.

Zechariah means “God remembers” and
โ€ฆโ€ฆ.. Berechiah, his father’s name, means “God blesses” and
โ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆ his grandfather’s name Iddo, means “At the appointed time.”

That is the theme of the book of Zechariah.
It is a book of encouragement to the people of Israel.

The title of this book proclaims a theological message about God and His relationship with His people Israel.

God remembers you,
God never forgets His promises or His people โ€” He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, and the creator of the universe.

  • When God remembers us, change becomes inevitable.
  • When God remembers us, impossibility becomes possible.
  • When God remembers us, our tears will be turned to joy.
  • When God remembers us, the unimaginable, unexpected, uncommon miracles will happen.

God never forgets our sufferings and our tears.

Lord takes note of all our sadness and all our pain โ€“ of all our tossings and weariness.

He keeps account of every tear that flows from our eyes and all the silent groans of our hurting hearts.

But rememberโ€ฆ God also forgives and forgets.
When God forgives, He really forgives.

Our sins have been removed from us as far as is possible; Once our sins have been removed, we will never be held accountable for them. They will never come back to haunt us.

BECAUSE OF HIS MERCY, OUR GOD FORGETS. BECAUSE OF HIS GRACE, OUR GOD REMEMBERS.

Praise God! PRAISE HIM INDEED!
